Account Settings

Update your profile, password, and personal notification or sync preferences.

Holy Resource includes a personal Account Settings dialog for the currently signed-in user.

Open it from the user menu in the sidebar footer:

  1. Select your name/avatar.
  2. Choose Account Settings.

This dialog is about your own user account. It is separate from Settings → General, which manages system-wide church, database, sync, provider, and maintenance configuration.

Profile

The Profile tab lets you update your own user-facing details:

  • profile picture
  • display name
  • email address
  • phone number
  • short bio

The same tab also shows account reference details such as your username and the date your account was created.

Profile pictures must be image files and currently have a 5 MB upload limit.

Security

The Security tab is for password changes.

To change your password, enter:

  • your current password
  • a new password
  • confirmation of the new password

Holy Resource requires the new password to include:

  • at least 8 characters
  • an uppercase letter
  • a lowercase letter
  • a number
  • a special character

Use this screen when rotating your own password after staff changes, device turnover, or a suspected credential leak.

Preferences

The Preferences tab stores user-level communication and sync-alert choices for your current account.

Notifications

You can turn these on or off individually:

  • Email Notifications
  • SMS Notifications
  • Push Notifications
  • Weekly Digest
  • Maintenance Alerts

Sync & Alerts

You can also control:

  • Sync Notifications
  • Conflict Alerts
  • Auto-Sync

These preferences affect your own experience. They do not replace branch permissions, system sync settings, or administrator-controlled maintenance policies.

What Account Settings Does Not Control

Account Settings does not manage:

  • church profile details
  • database backup targets
  • messaging provider credentials
  • LAN pairing or server connection codes
  • organization-wide permissions

Use Settings → General for system configuration and branch-level operational settings.
