Payment Gateways
Configure card readers, online giving links, and provider-managed text-to-give from General Settings.
Use Settings → General Settings → Payment Gateways to manage donation payment hardware and donor-facing online giving setup.
This tab is only shown on supported paid-license setups.
What This Tab Covers
Holy Resource separates payment setup into two practical groups:
- Card Readers for in-person donations
- Online Giving for public donation links and provider-managed text-to-give flows
The app loads configured gateways, shows whether they are active, and lets authorized staff add, edit, or remove them.
Card Readers
The Card Readers section is for in-person giving hardware.
- Add a reader configuration when your church accepts donations on-site.
- Mark one as the default when more than one reader exists.
- Active and inactive readers are shown clearly in the list.
- Use the row menu to edit or remove an existing reader.
If no readers are configured yet, the tab shows an empty state instead of a partially configured checkout flow.
Online Giving
The Online Giving section is for donor-facing payment links and provider-managed text-to-give setup.
- Add a gateway for your public giving page.
- Store the payment link the donor will finish on.
- Optionally configure a text-to-give number and keyword.
- Review readiness messages before you treat the setup as live.
When a text-to-give number is present, Holy Resource shows the donor instruction summary directly in the settings card so the team can verify the wording.
How text-to-give works here
In the current setup, donors typically text a keyword, receive a secure giving link, and complete the gift on the provider page. Holy Resource does not pretend the donation is finished inside the local settings screen.
Recommended Setup Order
Configure your online giving gateway first
This gives your team a working public donation path before you add optional hardware.
Review readiness warnings
If Holy Resource shows Needs attention or Fix setup, finish those items before public launch.
Add in-person card readers
Set up card readers once your physical donation stations are ready.
Run a real end-to-end test
Use a controlled donor test so you can verify both the donor experience and the internal configuration details.
Access Notes
