Announcements

Plan, publish, and manage church announcements with filters, priorities, and bulk actions.

Announcements is your central workspace for church-wide updates, reminders, and ministry notices.

What You Can Do in Announcements

  • Create announcements with rich content.
  • Save announcements as draft, then publish when ready.
  • Organize updates by type and priority.
  • Highlight important updates as featured.
  • Choose delivery channels for each announcement.
  • Search, filter, and sort your list for quick review.
  • Publish or archive many items at once.

Page Overview

At the top of the page, you will see summary cards for:

  • Total announcements
  • Published announcements
  • Urgent announcements
  • This month activity

Below the summary, the main table helps your team work quickly with:

  • Search bar (Search announcements...)
  • Column chooser (Columns)
  • Filter panel (Filter)
  • Bulk actions (Actions) when rows are selected
  • Add button for new announcements

Statuses, Types, and Priority

  • Published
  • Draft
  • Archived

Type options

  • General
  • Urgent
  • Event
  • Ministry

Priority options

  • Low
  • Normal
  • High
  • Urgent

These labels help teams triage what should be communicated first.

Delivery Channels

Each announcement can be distributed through one or more channels:

  • Internal App Feed
  • Email
  • SMS

Common practical setup:

  • Use Internal App Feed for all announcements.
  • Add Email for broad church communication.
  • Add SMS for urgent and time-sensitive updates.

Delivery Status and Retry

When an announcement is published with Email or SMS enabled, the View dialog includes an External Delivery Status panel.

This panel helps your team quickly understand:

  • How many messages were sent per channel
  • How many failed
  • How many were skipped (for example, missing contact details)
  • Recent delivery errors

If some messages fail, use Retry Failed to resend only the failed deliveries.

Create a New Announcement

On supported paid-license setups, the content editor can show an AI Generate action while the content field is editable.

  • Use it to draft a first pass for announcement wording.
  • Review and edit the result before publishing.
  • In Free mode, the AI drafting action is hidden.
  • If the content field itself is unavailable, the AI action is hidden too.

Open Add Dialog

Use the add action in the header area of the Announcements card.

Fill Core Details

Enter title, content, type, priority, audience, delivery channels, and schedule details.

Save as Draft or Publish

Save draft when still reviewing, or publish immediately when ready.

Daily Management Workflow

Each table row supports quick actions:

  • View
  • Edit
  • Delete

Additional list capabilities:

  • Select one or many rows with checkboxes.
  • Publish selected announcements in one action.
  • Archive selected announcements in one action.
  • Toggle visible columns based on your team’s preference.

The filter menu supports three dimensions:

  • Status
  • Type
  • Priority

You can combine these filters with search for very targeted lists (for example, only urgent event announcements still in draft).

Use Clear all filters to reset quickly.

  • Featured announcements show a star marker.
  • Status badges make draft/published/archived easy to identify.
  • Priority badges help teams spot high-urgency communication items.

These cues are designed to reduce missed updates during busy weeks.

Team Permissions

Permissions are enforced per user role:

  • View access: can read the list and open details.
  • Write access: can create and edit announcements.
  • Delete access: can remove announcements.

If a user lacks permission, restricted actions are hidden or blocked.

Delivery Planning Guide

Use this quick guide to keep communication balanced:

  1. Start in draft.
  2. Confirm audience and channels.
  3. Publish general updates via Internal + Email.
  4. Reserve SMS for urgent, action-needed communication.
  5. Review announcement performance and reduce unnecessary repeats.

Compliance and Care Basics

  • Keep email subject lines clear and accurate.
  • Provide recipients a way to manage or stop promotional email where required.
  • Use SMS only for people who have provided valid consent for text outreach.
  • Keep frequency reasonable to avoid communication fatigue.

Suggested Ministry Process

  1. Draft early in the week.
  2. Review wording and urgency level.
  3. Publish in planned batches.
  4. Archive time-sensitive items after event completion.
  5. Keep only active updates in published view to reduce confusion.

Best Practice

Keep announcement type and priority consistent across your team. Consistency improves filtering, handoff, and visibility for staff and volunteers.

Channel Discipline

Use Email and SMS intentionally. Sending every message on every channel lowers engagement over time.
