Getting Started
Create Your First Branch
Set up branch structure and switch safely between branch workspaces.
A branch is a self-contained workspace (campus, location, or operating unit). Data entry, permissions, and sync behavior are branch-scoped.
The Branch Dashboard
After sign-in, use the branch switcher in the app shell to see your active branch.
Creating the First Branch
Go to Settings → Branches and create your first branch.
- Example: "Main Campus", "North Campus", or "Community Center".
Activating the Branch
Once created, select the branch from the dropdown. Once a branch is active, all data you enter (members, attendance, donations) is automatically scoped to that specific branch.
When you switch branches, Holy Resource refreshes context so screens reload with the selected branch's data and permissions.
Why use multiple branches?
Multi-branch architecture is powerful because it allows:
- Data Isolation: Campus A cannot see Campus B's data unless permitted.
- Localized Reporting: Run attendance or giving reports specifically for one venue.
- Unified Licensing: Manage all your campuses under one Holy Resource license.
Practical setup tips
- Start with one production branch before adding more.
- Keep naming clear (for example: Main Campus, North Campus).
- Assign users only to branches they actively serve.
